State Minister and Personal Representative of the President Bouteflika, Abdelaziz Belkhadem, said the Algerian government and people refuse an overbearing look, pointing out that the Algerians refuse to be humiliated in his history, martyrs and symbols, as the war by the Egyptian satellite channels, particularly “Dream TV” was the fuel that fed the attacks on the Algerian supporters in Cairo, refusing to enter into the Egyptians’ trap, who claim that their supporters were attacked by Algerians, and that the ties between the two countries will not be affected by the emotions of the supporters in game.

• Belkhadem said in a statement on the sidelines of the reception of the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to the Algerian team football in the wake of their return to Algeria qualified for the 2010 World Cup, that the Algerians appreciate everything, but at the same time, reject any assault, in an explicit response to the Egyptian authorities, using a lot diplomacy in an attempt to pour water on the fire, Belkhadem said that what links the two peoples is larger than the emotions affected by some Egyptians, noting that in the end it is nothing more than a football match.

• In a response to the Echorouk question about the Egyptian authorities which diverted accusations to the Algerian government saying it is involved in planning an attack on the Egyptian masses, following the match in Khartoum, Belkhadem said, “The match was clean, the public was the cleanest, finest, and our victory was on the green ground. The plot was by the President of the FIFA, who remained silent, following the attacks on the Algerian team in Cairo. I’m surprised by that silence, however, when the Algerian wins he forget all about the past and only think of the future”.

• In his response to the Egyptians claims he said; “The Algerians were guests of Egypt and were not the aggressors. The perception of superiority is unacceptable”, refusing to go into the scramble by the Egyptian media, trying to influence the Egyptian authorities to decide an end of the diplomatic relations between the two countries; “Their call to the Ambassador of their country for the meeting of their parliament, does not matter at all, because our players showed professionalism in the match and they are the best and the most capable and most powerful in the ball because they know how to deal with their adversary”.

• And on the efforts made by the Government to facilitate and ensure the transfer of the Algerian supporters to Sudan, Belkhadem said; “Government aimed at providing one of the most important factors victory on the football field, and  the evidence the match was clean and the arbitration was also clean and even the public was clean and there were no negative incidents thanks to the good organization of the Sudanese authorities and the Sudanese generous people, ho opened their houses for the Algerian supporters”.
